NZ ARIA

The New Zealand Aria has been in existence since 1946, and is the largest competition of its kind in New Zealand. Its fame has spread throughout Australasia’s world of opera, and each year attracts aspiring opera stars from throughout Australasia. Many past winners and competitors have gone on to forge successful careers both in New Zealand and overseas.  The opportunity to sing with the Auckland Philharmonia, the substantial prize money but most importantly, the whanaunatanga and friendly atmosphere which this festival is known for, make this an event not to be missed for competitors and audiences alike.

The New Zealand Aria Trust welcomes you to the 80th Festival Weekend of Song to be held in Rotorua, at the Sir Howard Morrison Performing Arts Centre, Tangatarua Marae, Shambles Theatre and St Faiths Church.
